Concept
A mecha pilot defects from their squadron to take revenge, while being hindered by their AI assistant.
Role
I was required to visualise the aesthetic of the game while creating designs for military vehicles.
Ideation
Our tank-mecha design had to look grounded, while incorporating anthropomorphic features and a vessel for an AI assistant. I iterated upon various ideas for the team to approve.



To increase anthropomorphic features to visualise a design that evokes mecha iconography, I designed the AI companion to exist in a cockpit styled as a head, while also adding leg supports to the base tank design. This design with its forward angle signifies the mecha as agile, which is the feeling we wanted for the player mecha.
Retake
To incorporate feedback, I created new iterations based on the existing designs. To focus on the design and silhouette, I did iterations mainly on the side profile.


From the feedback, I changed the colour to be more stylistic and bold with a panda-like design, while making the legs more integrated with the existing tank base. From my variations, I then lowered the height of the design to be more in line with realistic tank proportions.
